The Minutemen played rough tonight against the Taproots tonight, and it paid off. The Williamsburg team took lots of chances, playing a very aggressive game where they weren't afraid to cause fouls in order to get their baskets. Neil Warren (Nile Monitor, G) again showed tonight that he was worth that signing in the late season, by playing a major role in the Minutemen's push forward in the third quarter that would ultimately win them the game. This is the Minutemen's first victory over the Taproots in this series, leaving the series at 2-1 for the 'Roots.
Meanwhile, the Spectrums managed a decisive 30-point victory over the Rapids tonight. Santa Ana pulled out a 12-point lead by the end of the first quarter, and never looked back from there. As always, Ain Iannizzi (Cougar, F) was in fine form, but the entire Spectrums team played strongly tonight, with every player putting up points. It isn't clear whether the exhaustion of the previous series against Winnipeg was finally catching up with the Rapids, or if something else was happening with the team, but they were not playing up to the usual standard that we expect of the Spokane team. With this game, all of the series in the conference semifinals are now at 2-1, in this case in the Spectrums' favour.
