LVG Rookie Invitational Letter and Final List of Names

Postby JWolfman » June 8th, 2014, 6:33 pm

[LVG Wildcards logo]

Mr./Ms. [name of draft prospect]

The Las Vegas Wildcards enter their third season at the Mojave Desert with unprecedented hope for the future. Not only have there been major changes at the ownership level but also among top administration including a new General Manager, and we are still rebuilding our coaching staff. The Las Vegas Rookie Invitational will be the first major FBA team camp available for Draft Prospects after the Rookie Combine this season, and for many of you, this will be your first trial against actual FBA veterans (and we have four veterans with 10+ years of experience in the FBA).

Similar to the Rookie Combine in Huntsville earlier last month, you will be undergoing scrimmages and drills with other players but this time it will be under more focused eyes by the Wildcards' scouting team, and the entire Las Vegas team has committed their involvement in the Invitational as well. Due to the Rookie Combine, we already know your major strengths and weaknesses, at least those reported at the Combine, so our evaluations will be more specific in accordance to how it can fit to our own needs. Despite this however, the information we will gather will be made public unless you explicitly demand the information to be classified from them, and thus other teams in the FBA will be able to access the information if they so desire. Members of the media will also be invited, but this is a major part of the reason why we decided to host this Invitational during the FBA Playoffs as that can provide a major distraction for the media and thus we don't anticipate as heavy a media presence here than during the Combine, and thus you should face less external pressure from them. You have only the Wildcards to 'impress' here, not the entire FBA. We expect the general atmosphere to be more relaxed, but there will still be difficult challenges awaiting you here in Las Vegas.

We will publish a finalized schedule of events for the Invitational soon, but here is what to expect:

* Trials against our team members, mostly on a 1v1 and 2v2 basis
* Interviews with our new General Manager, Mikela Soros
* Half-court and Full-court scrimmages
* Reserved rooms at The Dynn Resort, which is a five-star resort-casino maintained by our owner and located just a short monorail trip away from Fremont Palace
* Helicopter tours of The Strip at night (June 20th Only, Optional), courtesy of Dynn Helicopter Ventures
* All that Las Vegas has to offer! Well mostly.

Even though we currently do not have a Draft pick for this season, it is our top priority (even above resigning Free Agents!) to claim both First Round and Second Round draft picks. Even Undrafted players can be valuable for us, and if you don't believe that, just watch the Rookie Challenge game earlier this year during the All-Star Break. There are a number of you that stated 'Undetermined at this point' in our Questionnaire, and thus from them, we need a response about finalized committment by June 16th. If you are in need of assistance for travel arrangements, please contact your agent to handle the arrangements for you. If you have no agent and still need assistance, our owner James Dynn has a fund available and please contact our Talent Relations department as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas!

((OOC: Real-life inspiration about this came from The Palms at Las Vegas. Only in Las Vegas would they come up with something like this... x__x I need to ask The Palms on how much they're charging per night for this! Might be more than what I have in my bank account.))

Just found out the price for the real-life suite inspiration for this. It's $25,000 a night.
