I think the trials should be rotation based rather than strictly time based. Instead of this person has the court for 2 hours, have them all spread out and assign the entrants into groups. Then for each time slot each person will do the trial their group is slotted for. Then after a period of time there will be a small break before the groups rotate to the next trial and they go again. Might be a bit more exhausting for the LVG players but it isn't so much having long lines for each trial. Though I suppose this consideration only exists if there are a lot coming in. If we're only talking a small handful then might as well do this. But if we're talking 30 some then it'll become tiresome with all the waiting in line for each trial without splitting into groups.

Though I would imagine since the LVG players don't need the helicopter tours they may instead take some of the incoming rookies out for a night on the town and show them the parts of the city they feel are the gone ones.

Mige makes a good point. There is another element that should be considered, though. At least for the 1v1, it's possible that not everyone will play each person. After all, I'm pretty sure it would be a very quick game to 10 points is Kevin went out against the Guard trial. Li Ho Fook is, what, a foot shorter, 140 lbs lights, and quick on his feet. He'd likely run circles around Kevin.

I mean, Kevin would probably still play Li Ho Fook just to see how he could do against him, the whole he wants to play against the best mentality, but I'm pretty sure he'd be dummied.

So, depending on the MAKEUP of the draftees who attend, their preference as to who they wish to play against, the time schedule, and whether it is done in rotations or times, could vary.

Well you could possibly have it set up to go as only 3 groups. Group 1 would do the solo and each candidate can pick one of the three to go up against. Group 2 will then be split off into two to do the 2v2 matchups. Group 3 would be split off into 2 to do the 3v3 matchups, though if time they can go again and mix and match to see how they feel about playing with others.

I'm trying to make the changes as suggested here... just struggling on how to adjust them into the schedule.

Here's what I would do. First, finalize the list of players. Second, spread out the events. You don't really need an open gym for scouting. Thursday night is fine for check in, but Friday should be the drills with players. So the trials happen all Friday, or if you need more time, Friday and half of Saturday. On Saturday, or the second half of Saturday, it's scrimmaging. Half court or full court is up to you, but this let's you see a lot of prospects in one game so you need less time.

Sunday is your shooting thing and full court scrimmages. You set teams and let them play games to 21. You can flavor it if you like, but this gives you plenty of time to run through 10 prospects per game.

I would again wait to see the final list and then decide how to group people. When I know how many people you have, I can offer better suggestions on how to group people.

Obviously this isn't like a regular scouting visit where you bring in a handful of players to look at. You're doing a much larger event, so it's a bit harder.

Okay, spent a bit of time doing a sort of strange game of Sudoku so here's what came of it. Split everything off into 9 modules (Four 1v1's, Two 2v2's, Two 3v3's and a Drills module for whoever's left). Probably have a sign-up sheet on registration/sign-in, possibly as a first come, first serve basis (however, probably when fully done in actually just mention this order to say it's done since odds are no one's really going to RP out everything in it). Each candidate is required to sign up for at lead Three 1v1's, Two 2v2's, Three 3v3's and at least Two Drills modules (for a total of 10 out of 22 time slots). Each time slot is half an hour long. Which at 15 minutes a piece means 2 sessions per time slot. Now feel free to rearrange the names in each group of modules in each time slot as you see fit. I was more concerned with getting each player an almost equal amount of time in each module type and time slot that I didn't really care too much about ordering.

But what this means is that for each time slot you'll have eight candidates in 1v1's, eight candidates in 2v2's, twelve candidates in 3v3's (for a total of twenty-eight candidates playing against LVG players, thus the need for the ninth "Drills" module to pick up anyone left)

THURSDAY 19TH

0600 - Registration opens at The Dynn West Tower's Conference Room B. Prospects will need proper identification shown at the tables and they will be given legal liability paperwork that they must sign before continuing along with a schedule guide for the Invitational, brochure of Las Vegas spots and events, and rule listings (common sense). If the prospect reserved a room at The Dynn, they will receive their key-cards there.

0700 - The Practice Court facility at the Wildcards Gym will open and remain open for the duration of the entire Invitational until 0600 hours Monday 23rd.

0730 - Fremont Palace opens for touring of the facility! Prospects will receive a VIP Tour and escorted by one of the Wildcards' professional guides. Each tour will take 45 minutes on average and start hourly until 1700 tonight.

1100 - Hoover Dam Tour. Participation is entirely optional and it will be conducted by Hoover Dam guides separate from the Wildcards organization. The Wildcards however will pay for the tour costs, but be warned as there will be areas within the Dam that may be dangerous due to height restrictions on the tunnels and hallways. Hoover Dam tours take 45 minutes to complete, and photos are allowed to be taken during the tour.

2100 - Night Helicopter Flight Tours, courtesy of Dynn Helicopter Enterprises. Fifteen-minute helicopter tour over the famous Strip at night. Participation is entirely optional.

2200 - Registration closes for the night. Anyone arriving later can contact The Dynn's Front Desk for their room key-cards along with the proper paperwork that they can sign and hand over tomorrow when Registration opens again.

Various Times - The Wildcards will be available to meet with you when they have the time. They should know the city quite well, especially the Strip, so contact them and they may volunteer to give you a tour!

FRIDAY 20th

0500 - Registration opens at The Dynn West Tower Conference Room B.

0700 - Registration closes. FINAL NOTICE. If any prospect is already aware that they will be late for registration by this time, they MUST contact Terry Daniels (Event Lead Coordinator), or his primary assistants Shirly Triesdale and/or Christopher Kazarian.

0730 - Breakfast at Conference Room A in The Dynn West Tower. Catering will be offered. Welcome speech by Wildcards' new Owner, James Dynn, and the new General Manager, Mikela Soros.

0900 - Wildcards Meet-and-Greet with the participants at the Fremont Palace. Current contracted and former Wildcard (now FA) players scheduled to attend: Li Ho Fook, Kresta Renstill, Julio Onca, Wescot Yobia, Stefan Kikovic, Michelle Sundos, Alejandro Salazar, Mika Ziggler, Pura Doris Quaatsch, Logan Scott, Tay McKie, Shou Masaro, Sandy DiTullio, Godric Jafet.

Also scheduled to attend for the event will be our new Lead Trainer, Kris Freddeos. Former Wildcards Head Coach Roderick Estel (whom lead the Wildcards to a 10-5 stretch to end this regular season), now the HC for FuSC, is scheduled to attend as well. This will be a great time to ask questions to the players and trainers, etc. before the drills begin!

1000 - Trials for the prospects begin. This is expected to take all day into the night! There will be coordinators present that will issue prospects to face off against professional Wildcards players. Scouts will be paying close attention to all the activity.

Please note that not all prospects will face off directly against all Wildcards. We will try our best to schedule them on a basketball role-specific and rotation basis to compete, but do not be surprised if we decide to pit a Forward prospect against one of the Wildcards Guards. Also, not all the prospects will start at once! Due to the large number of prospects arriving and we have only 14 Wildcard players, some prospects will be scheduled to start later on the day (Staggered Schedule System).

All rest and dining periods will be staggered among the Wildcards, and they will be informed on their times by the coordinators.

1800 - Trials end for the night. Court will remain open for unofficial play.

2100 - Fremont Palace facility closes for maintenance and janitorial night crew to take over. Practice Gym facility remains open.

SATURDAY 21st

0730 - Breakfast at Conference Room A at The Dynn West Tower. Prospects will receive their schedule for the day by coordinators, and Wildcards roster will attend as well for breakfast.

0900 - Fremont Palace facilities open. Again with the Staggered Schedule System, only a select number of prospects will begin at this time, and others will begin later in the day.

If there are still any prospects in need of drills by this time, they should be completed by this morning. Mostly, this time will be set for half-court scrimmages. Prospects will be set up against the Wildcards roster, but there will be prospect vs prospect scrimmages if scouts feel the need for them (to fill in gaps left open from the Rookie Combine). The scrimmages are timed.

1800 - Scrimmages and trials end for the night. Court will remain open for unnofficial play.

2100 - Fremont Palace facility closes for maintenance and janitorial night crew to take over. Practice Gym facility remains open.

SUNDAY 22nd

0730 - Breakfast at Conference Room A at The Dynn West Tower. Prospects will receive their schedule for the day by coordinators, and Wildcards roster will attend as well for breakfast.

0900 - Fremont Palace facilities open. Full Court scrimmages will be conducted. Also, Wildcards rookie SG Kresta Renstill will introduce her specialized brand of shooting for prospects to follow through.

((Mige, please place the rules on the Forum thread here so that it can be recorded more permanently and to make it official canon. Only use twitter to create a link to your forum post, please! Thanks.))

1700 - One-to-One interviews with General Manager Mikela Soros will begin. Coordinators will inform prospects on their time-blocks with her. Once the interview is complete with the prospect, that prospect will be dismissed and consider all obligations for the Invitational completed. If they wish, they may return for home as soon as after the Interview.

1800 - Scrimmages and shooting trials end for the night. Court will remain open for unnofficial play.

2100 - Fremont Palace facility closes for maintenance and janitorial night crew to take over. Practice Gym facility remains open.

MONDAY 23rd

0600 - Wildcards Gym Practice court closes.

0730 - Breakfast at Conference Room A at The Dynn West Tower. Speech by Owner James Dynn.

0830 - One-to-One interviews with General Manager Mikela Soros will resume. Once the interview is complete with the prospect, that prospect will be dismissed and consider all obligations for the Invitational completed. If they wish, they may return for home as soon as after the Interview.

2359 - Midnight deadline for all Wildcards roster reports about the prospects sent to Mikela Soros.

(( Note to OOC Wildcard players: Those 'reports' are not required, of course. But if you want to inform me about any of the prospects in a RP manner, you can DM me via @LVGWildcards on twitter or by email csunfoxy@gmail.com ))

okay, posted the rules to Kresta's card game over at viewtopic.php?f=4&t=626 Figured that it was something that deserved its own thread as opposed to being something eventually hidden away in a different thread (ie this one).
