To all it may concern,
That kind of high-cotton greeting seems strange to me. But hey, sometimes it must go that way, no?
I wish to address Mr. Carson's comments to me, though more specifically I also want to address the conversation between Mr. Carson and Mr. Swimmer. While Coby did show a continued refusal for genuine apology, he did mention something I reckon it would be a good idea to address. For as much as his comments were disgusting, there was one thing he is right about.
In my family, I was always known as one of the rowdier ones. Pa reigned it in the best he could with his banjo, but I'm still one of the more hot-headed ones among all my siblings. I will admit that my hot-headedness did get to me a little with a particular comment of Mr. Carson's that I found mighty baffling. And unfortunately, I did speak before I thought about it. I could have approached that situation much more gently than I did, reasoned my thoughts much more calmly... and I reckon I could have reigned in some comments about "being dropped from the stupid tree" as well. For that, I do apologize to Mr. Carson. I should not have said that, and I am sorry.
But, in the end, that does not excuse Mr. Carson. Regardless of how I acted, his comments were mighty hurtful to me, and whatever wrongs I might have done against Mr. Carson ultimately do not justify such a damaging response. The authorities at the UFFL have spoken on that front, and I've made myself mighty clear, so I don't think I need to add much to that conversation.
I would quite like to put this rough talk behind me. Right now, I won't ask for an apology from Mr. Carson. However, I ask that we all put this behind us. As my friend Hal told me earlier today, what's done is done. Hopefully, we can all move forward from this, and hopefully time will do the rest.
